HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SESSION

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Always drink plenty of water before, during and after your sauna session! We provide complimentary water to drink during your session as well as a towel for your use.

Remove all make-up to allow your skin to receive the full benefits of the infrared waves.

WHAT TO WEAR

Lightweight shorts and a t-shirt are ok, swimsuits are better, birthday suits are great too. We recommend bringing clothing that is loose fitting and comfortable to put back on after your session. The struggle of putting on yoga pants when you are sweaty is real!

DURING YOUR SESSION

You may not sweat much during your first 2-3 sessions. This is normal for most, especially if you haven’t had a recent history of sweating and/or your body isn’t accustomed to the infrared rays.

Take care not to overheat during your first few sessions. Reduce your session time if needed and work up to the full 45 minutes. As your body continues to adjust to the infrared rays sweating can increase dramatically and body temp regulation happens more readily.

Stretching your arms, legs and back area during your session creates more body flexibility. Massage congested and “knotty” muscles to help alleviate troubled areas.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

When you finish your sauna session it is important to relax and cool down while your body continues to perspire. Sit or recline for 5-10 minutes afterward. Let your body do the work to return itself to it’s regular temperature.

Wait at least 30-40 minutes before you shower.

WHAT TO WEAR

Most people prefer birthday suits. However, a swimsuit is fine too. The more rays that your body is exposed to the better! (Your room is completely private.) We recommend bringing clothing that is loose fitting and comfortable to put back on after your session. The struggle of putting on yoga pants when you are sweaty is real!

DURING YOUR SESSION

Our staff will show you where to stand, then will turn the panels on and step out for you to undress and enjoy your session.

It is safe to leave your eyes open although it may take a few minutes for your eyes to adjust to leaving them fully open. We offer light blocking glasses.

The panels will turn off after your 10 minute session is over.

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Please arrive a few minutes early to your appointment so you can feel relaxed and not in a rush. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first massage appointment to complete your new client forms.  Our front desk will check you in and make sure all your paperwork is complete for the massage therapist to review.  If you have any coupons or special offers, please let us know when you arrive.

While your massage therapist is reviewing your forms, it is a good idea to use the restroom before your massage appointment begins.

WHAT TO WEAR

Should I take off my underwear when I get a massage? This depends on your comfort level and the type of massage you are going to receive. Tight-fitting or bulky undergarments can sometimes get in the way of the massage, especially if your problem areas are the low-back, buttocks, or hips.  Women usually remove their bras so no straps are in the way of back and shoulder massage.

DURING YOUR SESSION

Every massage therapist has a unique style and approach to giving a massage.  Most massage therapists begin with some postural analysis and perhaps some gentle rocking and compressions through the sheets to help you settle in and relax.  Relaxing massage techniques may be used at first, and as you become more relaxed more specific areas of tension may be worked with deeper pressure.  Your therapist will periodically ask for feedback on pressure or techniques, and may gently move your limbs or make requests through out the session.
You should expect to be comfortable and relaxed during your massage.  If you experience any pain or discomfort at any time, let your massage therapist know right away.  Speak up if the pressure needs adjusting, if you need an extra blanket, or if there is anything your massage therapist can do to help you relax.

Communicate with Your Massage Therapist!
Good communication is key to achieving the best results during your massage appointment.  This is your massage.  Be sure to give feedback to help your therapist meet your specific needs.  The more relaxed you are, the easier it is for us to do our job!  If there is anything your massage therapist can do to make you more comfortable, let them know.

Definitely communicate with your therapist if you feel any pain or discomfort, or if you have any concerns during your massage.  Some types of massage that work on deep layers of muscle and tissue, such as deep tissue or sports massage, will require more feedback to ensure that the pressure is not uncomfortable.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

Most people feel relaxed after a massage.

How you feel will vary depending upon your personal condition, the types of massage therapy you received, the length of your session, and how often you receive massage.  You will generally feel better the more massage therapy sessions you receive as the benefits add up over time.

If possible, it’s a good idea to have a little quiet time after your massage. This will help prolong the positive effects of the massage and make the most of the time you have invested taking care of yourself.
